Who we are

A small company, in three places, that would rather be trusted than large.

Corazón Colombia runs guided experiences, private travel and medical-travel coordination out of Bogotá, Medellín and San Andrés. We are not a marketplace and not a franchise. If something on your trip goes wrong, the person who answers is the person who planned it.

How we operate

Six things we will not quietly change later.

Every travel company says it is responsible. These are specific enough that you could catch us breaking them.

We are based where we sell

An office and staff in all three cities. It is why the practical notes on this site name specific streets and specific hours, and why we can tell you a plan will not work before you have paid for it.

Guides are paid before tips exist

A full day rate agreed in advance, not a wage topped up by whatever guests feel like giving. It is the precondition for donating tips honestly — otherwise we would be donating someone else’s income.

We hire from the neighbourhoods we visit

Comuna 13 is guided by people from Comuna 13, through community collectives. La Loma in San Andrés is guided by Raizal islanders. Not as a marketing line — because they are better at it.

We turn down work

No narco tours. No orphanage visits. No swimming with captive dolphins. No “authentic poverty” walks. If an activity needs someone’s hardship as scenery, we do not sell it.

We publish the bad news too

The drink-spiking problem in El Poblado, the limits of San Andrés hospitals, the 90 minutes Bogotá traffic will cost you, and the fact that Providencia is still rebuilding. A travel site that only tells you good things is an advert.

Direct booking, always

You can find some of our experiences on the big marketplaces. Booking here costs you the same or less and means the money stays with the people running your day rather than funding a 25% platform fee.

Why tips, not a percentage of revenue

Because we can actually keep the promise.

“1% of revenue” sounds bigger and means less — revenue is a number the company defines, and nobody outside can check it. A tip is a discrete amount a guest chose to add. It either left the business intact or it did not.

So we made the narrower promise: 100% of tips, 20% of that pool ring-fenced for children’s programmes, reported every quarter with transfer references. It is a smaller claim that survives being checked, which is the only kind worth making.

The full mechanism

Where we are in our own story.

We are early. The donation programme has not yet closed its first reporting quarter, so there is no published report to show you — and we would rather say that than fill the page with a stock photograph and a plausible number. Our medical-travel coordination works with independently licensed Colombian providers who are named on request once you are in a conversation with us, not published as logos to borrow credibility from. If either of those changes, this paragraph changes with it.

Corazón Colombia is a small team living in Bogotá, Medellín and San Andrés. We are not a call centre, and nothing we sell is something we have not done ourselves. We plan and book guided experiences, private travel and honest logistics across the three places we call home — and we answer, personally, from seven in the morning to nine at night.

One number matters more to us than any review score: one hundred percent of tips left with us are donated, and twenty percent of that is ring-fenced for children and for young adults learning the tourism trade — some of whom go on to work, paid, alongside our own guides. The tip you leave does not buy better service. It builds the next generation of the people who will show you this country.

Ask us something difficult.

Where the money goes, who guides what, why we will not sell you a particular thing. We would rather answer it now than have you find out later.
